It seems my choices for this size battery are pretty limited, but I want to find some of them for a couple of 4.8v packs I need to replace. 370mAh. I can build them for much less than the $18 they want for this.

I have found some "White Sleeve" brand batteries for a couple bucks each, but I have never heard of them and I wonder if there are better batteries out there I have not found yet.

I also need a Lion pack and had hoped to find the 2/3AAA cells at the same source(Battery Junction), but no luck yet.

Thanks

The two brands that I've come across is KAN and GP (gold peak). The KAN is rated at 450mah and the GP is rated at 400mah. The model number for the GP is 40AAAM. Out of these two brands GP is more familiar and known to me.

I bought mine from here: ( http://www.batteriesdirect.com.au/shop/product/12277/gp40aaam.html ) But they are quite expensive. You'll might be able to find them cheaper elsewhere. Maybe have a google for KAN 2/3AAA, GP 2/3AAA and GP 40AAAM and see what shows up.

When you say they where expensive, how much?

I found some Sanyo brand, but not sure what type - they did not say eneloop. but Sanyo has a pretty good rep with those. They are rated at 400 mah and just under $2

I don't think you will find many sources for smaller NiMH's these days. Kan and GP cells were used by the R/C hobby up to about 5-6 years ago but they have been completely replaced by LiPO's. Batteryspace.com has some 300mAH cells for $1.20 while tnrbattery.com has 400mAH for $2.
