Best 2AAA penlight?

Hello all,

My Streamlight Protac 2AAA finally kicked it, so I need a replacement. I thought I'd try something different, but there aren't a whole heckuva lot of reviews for AAA lights like there are the larger tactical lights.

What I need:
-2AAA (ok to come with a rechargeable, but I need the option to run AAA primaries)
-Low and high mode (any order)
-Durable
-Under $150

What is the BEST most DURABLE 2AAA out there??

Mine does. No issues. Done so for years. But nothing from Pelican recommending it.

The Preon is an excellent choice. You won't be disappointed. That noted, there are a few other manufacturers whose lights might also suit your intended use. In no particular order...

NiteCore MT06MD. 180 max lumens. This light's claim to fame is the elimination of the blue part of the emitter color spectrum. This results in a high CRI output that is exceptionally clear and a very "clean" illumination that is safe for use in eye exams. Always starts on low.

JETBeam SE-A02. 280 lumens max (at least that what JetBeam claims). CREE XP-G emitter.

Lumintop IYP365. Nichia 219CT emitter (93 CRI). Made for medical exams: 1.5 lumens on low, 200 lumens on high.
