I currently have a Quark "X" AA and it is too big for my mini pack I am building. Plus I want something on hand that can take AAA's. I am looking for something that is thin. I saw a review on the Preon 1 and it looks good. The prices have been recently cut to $30. Does anyone have any input on a different selection? Keep in mind that width is pretty important, but length and weight really aren't, just don't go over bored and it can't be more than 0.75 wide. Preon is 0.55, but if there is better and still skinnier than 0.75 wide, them I might get it.

Edit: I should say that being able to turn on under 5 lumen is needed because I am going for longevity and that is plenty for me to read with. And if anyone knows where to get a Preon ReVo or why they stopped selling them, then please let me know.

Klarus Mi X5 (1 x AAAA) and Mi X6 (1 x AAA) could meet your requirements. Here you can see them with Preon 1

Thanks, but I was hoping you could say why you think it is better. That is really what I am after here, to see if anyone has something that is actually better.

In terms of slimness in the AAA category, I don't think anything beats DQG II and CQG S2. The latter alone is 0.61" in diameter, but DQG has your needed 5 lumens.

Well actually I don't think that Mi X6 is 'better' than Preon 1 but that it is just another possible solution. For me 'better' means that it is more suitable for my personal requirements and apart from the fact that 4Sevens lights and Klarus are possibly made in the same factory the two lights are IMO more or less equivalent. Mi X6 is made of stainless steel which is sturdier than aluminum if this is important for you.
But if you go for thinness you should really consider Mi X5 which in this respect is really unbeatable. Of course AAAA cells are more difficult to find that AAA's but you still can get them without too much trouble.

Eagletac D25A is an AA flashlight that is just a little over 1/10th of an inch longer and wider, has more output and longer runtimes and fits the size you want.

Preon = 1.8 lumens for 23hrs 8.5 lumens for 6hrs
D25A = 3 lumens for 50+ hrs 19 lumens for 6hrs

Looks better too :)

AAA is what I want, lol.

I used to EDC a 2xAA Klarus in front pants pocket. I then EDC'd a 1xAA Zebralight SC51 but I could still feel it there. I now EDC a 4Sevens Preon2 Neutral (2xAAA) and I can't feel it there at all. I often have to check/feel thats still there in case i lost it! Yes it's long, but it's thin and most importantly it's very light. I also like the tailcap switch and the 150+ lumens. I have the stealth black version so no one can see it there against my black work pants.

Cheers
