I'm looking for an EDC for under $50. I want something that can easily be slipped into a pocket or be clipped on a pocket/belt and not get in the way. Kind of looking for something similar to a streamlight protac 2L. I like the click button on the end too.

Eagletac P100C2 if no strobe is desired. If strobe is desired the Eagletac P20C2 is the next step up, and even has a screw on diffuser. Both lights can be purchased with different emitters so keep that in mind when considering tint, and beam geometry. Two of my favorite lights of all time within their respective price ranges.

the crelant v11a is a tad larger than the xeno but doesn't get as warm when using the 14500 battery. these are single cell aa lights that are both shorter than a maglite 2aa model and give you 2x the lumens of the led pro+ model

For 2 cm longer and $10 cheaper. You can get the "ThruNite TN12 705lumens Cree XM-L U2 LED" ($39.99). A better option in my opinion.

Thank you all for the suggestions. After looking at all the suggestions and reading reviews I ordered the Thrunite TN12. It had the features I was looking for, and had good reviews. Can't wait to get it.

Now to purchase some batteries for the light. I was looking on amazon for some 18650 batteries as I am assuming this would be a better option than using two cr123a batteries. Is amazon ok to buy these batteries from, or is there a better source to get them from?

Congratulations on your purchase. The TN12 has some really nicely spread output levels. The only 18650 batteries that I would buy from Amazon would be the Orbtronic brand. This in my opinion is the best value from their line. Just search for “Orbtronic Two 18650 Protected 2900mAh Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries Button Top with PCB - NEW Dual Protection Version Panasonic 2900mAh cell inside”. $28 for 2 batteries delivered.

Like knight mentioned Orbtronics brand is about the only good choice on amazon, everything else there is to risky, you can get the same batteries (Panasonic NCR18650's) cheaper from other places tho, check CPFMP for AW's sales thread, there's several other mfg's too (that test and rebadge the Panasonic's).

You can also save yourself some money and time and harvest them from laptop packs, usually you only get the 2300's from them.

Zebralight SC52/w. Not a tail clicky but great UI, tint options and small. It's close to your $50 price with the Illumination Supply discount (about $54 shipped in US)

sorry too late to the party - - enjoy the TN12!
