What form factor or general shape of flashlight do you prefer for carry?

I'm finding that the Minimag 2AA long tube is a little too long for my taste...anything longer would be impossible to use. 3AA would be out of the question.

Surefire 2x123 shape/width seems like it has a big following.

I think the Eternalite pager-like shape would be very low profile for belt carry; too bad so few flashlights come in that shape.

The 2W Nichia belt-light over on the Mod lights forum looks incredible from a carry perspective.

ARC LS's are the ultimate in size and power for an EDC. Obviously, you cannot go past the ARC AAA on a keyring as well.
I have a SF G2 which occasionaly comes with me as well.

Get an ARC AAA and then if you can afford it, an ARC LSH-P - great lights, great size, everything!!

Just my thoughts

The Arc LS is a little thicker than it needs to be and I don't understand the reason. The Surefire E1/E2 uses the same batteries and is noticably thinner. I'd like it if the Arc LS was the same thickness.

Anyway aside from tiny lights like the Photon and AAA, my favorite general carry light is the UKE 2L. It's about the same size as the Surefire E2 but a bit lighter and made of polymer. I find the polymer light easier to hold (doesn't feel cold like a metal light) and easier on my pants pocket (doesn't bang around as much and doesn't seem like it will wear the pocket out).

I just got the Arc AAA a few days ago and it's great. I looked at the LSH and decided not to buy one for now. It's wonderfully constructed but just too bulky and expensive. I'd rather have the twist tailcap than the larger pushbutton switch, and I just can't justify $100+ on a flashlight when I can get a brighter incandescent that's not that much larger at a tiny fraction of the cost.

In fact what I think is your thougts and tastes may evolve. When I got my first Surefire, the M2, I thought the light with combat grip was the only way to go. Then later I got the A2 and thought it was the most beautiful light out there. And then I got the ARC LSHP, before that I didn't care about size as long as it's cool. And now I EDC the LSHP and think it's the coolest and the ultimate choice for EDC.

i love that body. smooth and silver.

try to search "novigear" at ebay, and find a lot of example there.
