I hear that the HDS is a pretty awesome light but with so many options what do you think is the best over all EDC model? Im thinking maybe the 200 lm EDC rotary? What do you think?
The best HDS is the one that you can actually find in stock somewhere. :naughty:
IMO the only downside of the rotary is that there isn't currently a pocket clip available for it, however when I last spoke with HDS I was told a prototype was being tested and it should be in production sometime in February, we'll see. All the lights have the same features so UI, rotary/clicky, and LED selection, HCRI/high efficiency, are your choices. The 200 rotary gives you the latest UI with the most efficient LED they currently offer. The lower output lights are less efficient and less expensive. The lowest output clicky is 120 lumens and at $99 is a good value, IMO. IDK if it's still the case but the lower output lights like the 120/140 lumen models were using GDP emitters that produced a narrower beam and therefore had good 'throw'. Overall they're all pretty cool high tech lights. Once you get the hang of the programming it's a fun little light. Good luck.
Any HDS you don't have to wait a year a to get!I hear that the HDS is a pretty awesome light but with so many options what do you think is the best over all EDC model? Im thinking maybe the 200 lm EDC rotary? What do you think?
