Best host for EverLED ??

Okay I keep reading that the Tec 40 is a great host for the EverLED, BUT I've also read that the Tec 40 will ruin the EverLED because of the reverse plarity issue. Which is it? Which way are you guys putting in the batteries?

From what I understand, you could install the batts either way. When I get mine, I will be sure to use my meter to determine which way they should go. And yes, people have burned out thier EverLED's after trying in a new light where polarity is not known. Be Careful!!!

I just looked inside the battery tube on my PT40. There are + an - markings molded into the plastic. These markings are correct for using an EverLED with a PT40. These would be hard to see in the dark. So you could install the batteries backwards if you were not carefull.
If you look at the lampholder you will see that it has a key slot so that it can only be installed one way. If you look at the battery contacts in the lampholder you will see that one of the contacts extends to the center. If the batteries are installed so that the + of the batteries makes contact with this terminal you should be ok.
