Hi all

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, first proper post!...it appears to be ok to me so fingers crossed! I have also looked around and couldn't find much on this, if I have missed something please point me in the right direction.

Basically I want to stick a Cree XLamp MT-G 6V 4A into a 2/3D Maglite. I was wondering what the best driver for this would be (I want a 3 mode one ideally)? I can't seem to find 4A drivers, 3A or 5A yes. Would a 5A be safe? I'm not new to electronics but I only do it now and then so everything goes to a dusty corner of my mind and takes a while to figure out again.

Thanks for any assistance.

Kind regards
Phill

Intl-outdoor has a 3.5A buck driver that can work with the MT-G1/2, not exactly 4A that you want but I'd say its close enough. 5A is doable on a MT-G2 assuming it is mounted on a copper noctigon mcpcb.

Thanks a lot, I will probably give the 3.5A driver a crack and see how it turns out. This led definitely knocks out a lot of light at 5A...
