Best LED light for using up 123\'s

I've got a scattering of single 123's all of varying amounts of juice left.

I'm looking for an LED light (Luxeon or 5mm) that can use these up.

Because it's my understanding that mixing cells of unequal levels of remaining power is not advisable, I would like to limit this to single 123 cell lights ONLY please.

So far I'm tempted with the Peak single 123 cell, double ended light. Perhaps their Snow white on one end and Red or UV on the other end. Anybody have this Peak "Everest" model and care to comment?

Re: Best LED light for using up 123\'s

It is my guess...but If you want to really drain the Peak would be the way to go, I think they have a 123 light running on a single 5mm led. That I would guess would really have some runtime.

I used to have lots and lots of half drained 123s lying around, but not anymore. I really got my battery clutter cleaned up. Cept for my stash of powerfailure batteries I have tucked away.

I've been told that the Inova X5 is very good for this.

Debating whether to keep my HA-III version for just this usage, or let it go...

I put "used" 123's in my X5T-HA. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The red LED Inova X5T runs on only 1 CR123 lithium cell and will go for many many hours constantly on a "dead" battery. I think I tried it once and gave up counting.

Thank you for the comments about the X5T, but I
think I'm going to stick to my original pick.

IMHO, the only choice for "dead" battery use is the X5T.

It's a shame County Comm doesn't have any more X5T-HAs. Such a great light...

Re: Best LED light for using up 123\'s

Actually the Tektite Splashlite Led is a undermentioned little fella here... I have a couple of these and they suck out every last bit of juice from my used 123s which are too weak to power up my X5t even!! Plus its size makes it an even better light!!

Surefire L1 or E1 with with KL1 head , they are bullet proof and run forever ( particularly the L1 on low output ).

Re: Best LED light for using up 123\'s

You'll be surprised, actually how much more juice can still be squeezed out of your 123 cells when they are too weak to run the E1/KL1 or even the Arc LS.

Thank you Stanley!

The Tektite Splashlite Led looks like another option, since I was looking for a ONE cell light.

Problem solved.

Fry's Electronics here in San jose area has the Streamlight Twin-Task 1L on sale for $12.99.

Not my first pick, it's way to frigging big for a single 123 cell light, but it will do.

You're welcome Greg! $12.99 for the 1L?? Wow... that's way way cheap... Any chance you could help me get a couple of these and I'll PP you the $$? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So the cells used by the Arc LS are pretty much dead when you're through with them?

$12.99? Man... I'd by a couple at that price too...
