Which LED out there produces the best throw????

The guy that makes the farthest throwing LED is not that far from you. MrBulks, SNII

The MR-X throws extremely far as well. There is a thread about it in the MOD forum. It throw slightly farther than the SNII from what I have heard. I have an MR-X, and I love it. Up to about 100 yards, it lights things up almost as well as my father's 500,000 CP spotlight, but the MR-X has a much larger hotspot.

The only difference is that you might actually be able to purchase a SNII, but maybe you can dream about the MR-X. But I think a 6d 3 x 5 watt HD with Fraen Trilens might nudge its way to king-light status.

6D 3 x 5W HD with Fraen (i.e. my Inretech Helios w/3 x low-profile Fraen optics) can't really compete with SN II or something similar (my Lambda Megalite HD) in terms of throw. However, 3 x 5 watt HD definitely beats 1 x 5 watt HD (though overdriven) in sheer output.
