Best Throwers?

Whats the best throwing fenix tk11, olight m20 warrior sized lights out there? i may have named both of them.
also, what is the best throwing mod maglite d cell out there?

Check this thread for Maglite drop-in and mods. An aspherical lens with a Cree XR-E R2 overdriven should provide quite a bit of throw.

Something like the M20 with a smooth reflector should provide the most throw. The Sunlight 8W(thread) seems to be a bit bigger but should have lots of throw.

To speak to KevDawg's question, Gunner hit the nail on the head. After the TK11 and M20 size reflectors, you get into the 35mm or so class and you've got options like the Raidfire Spear and Eagle 8w. The Eagle gets my vote, (obviously), and is actually lighter in weight than my Fenix T1. Here is a photo of both comparing them.

I don't gots the money. I'm still a student.

I hope to be able to get one but I don't see it happeing anytime soon.

No, I hear you. I get about $35 to spend every 2 weeks, (my own allowance :naughty, and it's hard to save up enough some times.

To the Original Poster, whatever you get should have a smooth reflector to maximize the throw.....so look for one that does.

Well, they both have their advantages. I'd prefer that someone who has both answer that question. I know that 276 has them both, so if you're listening Mr. 276, maybe you can help KevDawg out.

Judging by the beamshot comparisons between the Clone Spear and the Real Spear, the Clone Spear and the Sunlite Eagle 8w, the 8w looks to have more throw then the Spear(the clone and spear seems to have similar throw to the real one).

Someone who has both should chime in to confirm or disprove.

well I had the spear and it went bye,bye's "sold" a week later I kept my DBS,

the sunlite 8W being smaller and throws as well as the DBS gets my vote now :twothumbs
