Boy, all this stuff can get overwhelming quickly. Which is why I've been reading for over a week now and felt it was time to log on and beg for help.
I'm looking for a universal (AA, D, 9v) maintainer/analyzer/charger that can run off of 12v.
It seems like the best ones, MH-C808, BC-9009, etc all plug directly into the mains.
There are some good chargers like the BC1Hu that can run off of 12v but they don't do anything.
I'm looking to set something up for an extended off-grid period (think remote cabin.) Solar (PV) into a battery bank and then using that to run 12v appliances and tools. I want to keep inverter use to a minimum.
I'm ordering a Titanium MD-3000 since it seems like a decent fast charger for D cells as the BC1HU is much slower and doesn't always fully charge hi-cap NiMh.
My battery brands are probably going to be Eneloops for AA and Titanium D12000 for D hicap and AccuEvolution or Hybrids for LSD.
Any thoughts on chargers or batteries would be appreciated. Thanks.
