I've tried searching and been unable to come up with any tips. Don't want to damage the light or the clip.

Help?

If you don't like it, I'll trade you short clip for it....

As for removing it....take off the o-ring, try to fit a very small flat tip screwdriver under the clip and push the black plastic retaining wedge out, next pull clip out with needle-nose pliers....toward the threads of course.

Put the head end down onto workbench while using screwdriver to push out wedge. Be careful not to slip and hurt yourself. It can be tight sometimes.

Hope that helps

I see no plastic retaining wedge. I can see completely through underneath the clip.

Weird?!?!

Uh...try putting a tailcap (preferably aN E2D type) so you can apply force. Put the rounded part of the clip onto the edge of the table....now pull down on the tailcap forcing the clip out...

Don't know if it will work, but its worth a try.

I just tried the edge of the table trick and it worked perfectly....and mine had no wedge either....must just be old ones

My E1B clip has no plastic bit under it and tapped-out easily. It wouldn't swap with my E1L which has the the plastic O-ring insert.
