Black Diamond mode problem

I got my Black Diamond Icon modded with a Seoul P4 and replaced the 5mm LED's with some that had a better tint. I've been using this light a lot over the last two days.

Well just now it has gotten stuck in the 5mm full bright mode. A soft touch will not dim the LEDs. Turning the light off and back on will not switch to the main LED as it should either.

Any ideas?

not to question your technical skill (hey you did mod it and it worked!) but
suggest taking it apart and shake it to remove any tiny solder flakes that
may create a short and closely
inspect all connections...
...maybe install some weak (almost dead) batteries an see if it works.
If yes than the new led's you put in are of such a different load on the circuit
its not gonna work. Black diamond circuit designers may have cut to tolerances
too close for any changes. You now could have the learning opportunity to mod the
circuit board!:twothumbs:naughty:

I had everything clean, at least I *think* I did because I blew it out with compressed air before assembly.

I took it apart to inspect everything. I was looking for anything out of place............a broken wire, solder blob, etc., and didn't see anything. I put it back together and it works again.

Go figure.

I know how you feel.
When stuff suddenly starts working and all I did was take it apart and
reassemble it, I think the universe is messing with me.
As insurance carry a backup HL in case the problem comes back when you go into situations where you really need a HL.

I'm going to use this light for car/home repair, and hunting camp chores. If I ever go into a place where my life depended on a light I would definitely carry backup. You ought to see the lights I carry just going from my car into work. I have a Surefire L5 in my pocket, and my penta-Cree Mag in one hand. There's another modded P4 Seoul M@g in the car, and another L5 and a P7 M@g in the shop.

My neighbors must think I'm eccentric........maybe they'd be right.
