Has anyone tried this lantern? It's new as of the past year so not a lot of info yet. I'm wondering if anyone has used one, or compared it to any of the popular small LED lanterns out there. I'm trying to decided between this and the Cree 110 lumen warmlight, BD Apollo and BD Orbit. Primary role will be backpacking- outdoor lighting (table use when a campfire isnt going), and haning in the tent. I also need an emergency indoor light so it's double duty. I think the Voyer at 8oz is around my upper limit to size, the Apollo seemed a bit big though it would be a great emergency light. If the Apollo lights real well I suppose I'd put up w the added bulk, but I havent seen one outside of the store. My brother has the Orbit which is nice and portable but might be too dim for sitting around camp without a fire. The Cree lights seem to have the right output but I've never seen them in person and lumen ratings vary wildly by manufacturer claims. I'm looking for a bright light, but not blinding, and able to cast about a 10-12ft throw. Dont need flashlight functionality since I also have a headlamp.

They don't mention runtimes or if it is regulated.
You might consider getting a flashlight (as backup to your headlamp) that runs on rechargeable 18650 lithium battery, and a solar force lantern.
The solar force lantern essentially is a lantern top that is connected to a flashlight (which is the light source. The lantern has two diffusers, one like a ping pong ball, and one of those shiney cone shaped reflectors.

You can get falshlights with a multitude of lumen outputs, including very low so that you might get 100's of hours of low level light.

I found the Voyager for almost the same price as the Cree Warmlight so I think I'll give it a try and let you know how it works. I like that it has a battery power indicator, and the cree has that blinking light which might annoy me when trying to sleep in the tent.
