Someone I work with appreciates my collection of Fenix and Zebra; it's kinda nice having someone appreciate it. Well, he wants a Christmas present for his brother-in-law who enjoys boating. He wanted to get him a high end flashlight. I'm having a hard time suggesting a good gift here. He says the recipient doesn't use rechargeable batteries. He wants to come in right around $100.
I asked if a 12V spotlight would work and he said yeah. He basically wants something water proof with the most bang for your buck geared towards a boater. Do you guys have any suggestions? everything I have runs Eneloops or Ni-D's. If I suggest something like that, he'd spend more than half of his budget just getting the cells and charger. I thought about the 12V spotlight that recently was on sale at Walmart and got a lot of attention here. I'm pretty sure it was a Stanley, yellow one where they had a smaller and larger model. I also saw the Ryobi 35W 18V listed..
What would you guys say? I don't want to point to something too obvious or easy, but is that really the best option in this scenario? A trip to a local store? I thought maybe there was something more that I was missing. Thanks for the help!!
