Boost driver that can do 2A+?

Are there any boost drivers capable of boosting from 3-10V to 5V-20V ? That would be a useful range, however my application requirements at the moment call for boosing 7.4V to power a 4S string of LEDs, rougly 14V. Fatman can do this, but maxes out at 1A, and I want up to 2A or more (perhaps even driving a 3S2P or 4S2P array with 1.2A per string).

Are there any drivers that can fulfil this wish?

Try putting all the leds in series and using an LT3756. I am presently designing a torch using 15 dies in series driven at 0.7A and about 50-60V. (The LT3756 will do upto 100V output). Linear Technology provides a good simulator (LTspice) to test out your design.

Neat website ya got there!

I'm working on a similar setup to drive 4 MCE (16 dies). That LT is one of the chips on the design table. Impressive IC, but $$$ also.

Back to looking at the website projects
