A list of all the places I know in New York City....
Marty's Photo & Electronics
125 Maiden Lane
NYC, NY 10038
(212) 809-9420
Overall: You'll find a good assortment of Inova X and T series lights. Currently, no reflector models. Likely to change soon. If you prefer or want an Inova with a TIROS optic, this is the place to go. Reasonable prices, for a B&M shop located in Manhattan.
____________
Lighting Plus
680 Broadway
NYC, NY 10012
(212) 979-2000
Overall: An excellent assortment of light fixtures, some a bit unusual. Plenty of inexpensive, cluster LED lights, 2AAA Mini-Mags, and various sizes of D-cell Maglites (including 6D models). A good place. I once had a problem with a 2AAA Mini-Mag I bought. The store owner made things right, on the spot.
____________
Iceberg Army / Navy of Soho
452 Broadway
[New location across the street]
NYC, NY 10013
(212) 226-8454
Overall: The place to go for Surefire fans in NYC. Wide assortment of Surefire accessories as well as lights. One or two models from a couple of other companies as well. Seen a Streamlight Strion there. The man who runs the place is a good guy. Prices may seem expensive, but keep in mind it's a B&M store in Manhattan.... (Where even a slice of plain Pizza is almost $3).
____________
Cutting Edge Gift Shop
BUSY MALL
37-12 Main street, store #9
Flushing, NY 11354
(718) 820-3345
Overall: An aquaintence who used to sell knives. About 2 years ago, the city declared most of his knives to be illegal gravity knives. Key word being, "declared." To avoid further problems, he stopped selling knives; and replaced them with lights. Not too many models. Some PentagonLights. (I got a Night-ops Gladius from him). He also sells unusual gift items as well. He's also a good guy.
____________
K-Mart in Manhattan
Enterance on 4th Ave + East 8th St. in Manhattan
Overall: The lights are on the 2nd floor. Not a huge assortment. They have a couple of Dorcy LED models, and the Rayovac 2AA model. (Don't look for the Sportsman Xtreme packaging. This light is packaged more plainly at K-Mart). Still, worth stopping by and taking a look, unless you want high-end lights. There's two K-Marts in Manhattan. The other one is a waste of time.
____________
Home Depot in Manhattan
West 23rd St., between 5th + 6th Ave.
Overall: A couple of different colored C + D Maglites and Mini-mags. A few lights from other companies. Plenty of lanterns, spotlights, and headlamps.
____________
Mash Army & Navy
721 on 8th Ave. between West 45th + 46th St. in Manhattan
Overall: This place has 2AA Mini-mags in some of the harder-to-find colors. Some RAM products, and the guy's an Authorized Surefire dealer who sells accessories too. But.... I honestly can't recommend this place. If you need a Surefire light, go to Iceberg or Paragon (see below). Mash is overpriced, even by B&M standards.
____________
Tent & Trails
21 Park Place
NYC, NY 10007
(212) 227-1760
Overall: A good variety of lights, (even a couple of Surefire models). Mostly Pelican and e-Gear. Competitive prices with other B&M stores. One thing though.... the owner is very moody. Don't take it personally if she's a bit rude to you.
____________
Paragon Sporting Goods
867 Broadway (on 18th St.)
NYC, NY 10003
(212) 255-8036
Overall: Mostly Surefire models. A handful of lights from other companies. If you can't find a Surefire model at Iceberg, check Paragon. Lights are on the 2nd floor, all the way to the right.
____________
8th Ave. Lighting Inc.
545, 8th Ave.
NYC, NY 10018
(212) 279-1323
Overall: Mostly light fixtures. Two Surefire models (6P + G2). New model Inova T-series lights with reflectors. A bit overpriced though.
*There's a Benjamin Moore Hardware store literally next door. They sell various size Maglites and one or two Streamlight models.
____________
R&S Army + Navy
91-13 Jamaica Ave.
Woodhaven, NY 11421
(718) 441-4670
Overall: Not much of an inventory of lights. Just a handful of models. But I did pick up an Inova T4 TIROS at a good price there. Last time I was there, the owner was giving a speech to an employee about how to treat customers with respect, otherwise they'd go elsewhere.
____________
****'s Sporting Goods (Inside Roosevelt Field Mall).
630 Old Country Rd.
Garden City, NY 11530
(516) 742-8000
Overall: Not technically part of NYC, but still close enough; out on Long Island. A few models from Dorcy, Princeton tech, Coast, Maglite, and camo Streamlight Headlamps and Stylus.
____________
On Target (Gun Shop).
1209 Jericho TPKE.
Between Ingraham Lane + N. 12th St.
(516) 328-3004
Overall: Also out on Long Island. Just a couple of older Streamlight models. As in, the old yellow Streamlight packaging. If you want a Xenon-bulb SL NF-2 model, you'll find one there. But.... I was there only once, and the owner treated me like garbage. The place exists, but I recommend going elsewhere.

I don't know of any places in other parts of NYC.
