Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but Ive just taken delivery of some 5 mm .5 watt LEDs from http://www.led-tech.de/ . They are very powerful leds considering they are 5mm non SMDs. Rated as below. Also available in white. I've not seen these kind of specs elsewhere, but let me know if this is just 'ordinary washing':grin2: Hope this may be useful to some!

0.5 Watt Power LED
boosted lead frame, wide viewing angle, extreme brightness

Diameter: 5mm Viewing Angle: 80° Emitting Color: warm white Housing Color: clear Lumen typ.: 18 MCD typ.: 14000 mcd Kelvin typ.: 3500 mA test.: 100 mA mA typ.: 100 mA V typ.: 3,4 V V max.: 4,0 V Watt: 0,34 W

Looks like they require a heavy heat sinked copper pcb.

Driven at max, they do need some sinking, but at 50-75ma they are just warm to touch and still with an enormous output. My only complaint is that the warm white is easily 6500k which is totally wrong IMHO. I told LED-TECH about this, but they said they were correctly binned.

Thanks for the link to the other forum ... Ill use that. Hoping to avoid the big
