Need some help finding a light not more than $100 in cost that is super bright. LED, incad., whatever. Prefer 7-8 inches or smaller - such as the Pelican M6, Surefire E2E, etc. I've done some research but you guys are the experts so I'm asking you as a shortcut. I've already bought 7 lights and I'm getting out of hand here. I want the MOST LIGHT OUTPUT with whatever bulb/battery config. that gives at least an hour. Thanks for any input.
 
If possible, could you help us narrow it down. Do you need the light to throw far, or do you want more of an area light? Is this a light going to be used impress others or more of a tacticle/utility application? You mentioned size, but is weight important? Will you be carrying this on your belt/pocket or can it be put in a bag?


Also, if you don't mind, let us know what lights you already have so we can know not to suggest those and possibly have a basis for your comparison.

With your criteria already mentioned the Tigerlight comes to mind.
 
Actually, if you're unhappy or feel unsatisfied with your current lights, go ahead and list them and then we'll see if we can come up with flashlights that'll top your list, and you can make a judgment based on that...

We need something to reference to... Say if you have a M$g 4D as your brightest light... Then the door would be opened higher than that with regards to $100 budget and size limits.

Of course, with just those two specifications, off the bat, Tree's got it right on: a TigerLight is what's callin' your name... ~350-450 lumens and 250 hours bulb/1.5 hours runtime, tough as nails and rechargeable...

Dollar for dollar the Tigerlight is tough to beat for the combination of power/runtime/cost/ and total cost of ownership. It needs a better lens, which can be purchased from flashlightlens.com for cheap. My wife has turned anti-torch on me because of all the lights laying around still grabs the Tigerlight FBOP when she heads outside. Wait around buy/sell/trade for a couple of weeks and you may see one for $100. Otherwise, Dan at Tacticalwarehouse.com is the go-to guy for me.
 
Man, you guys are awesome. This is my first post and I knew you would be a great help. Ok... I've got:


Brinkmann Legend LX (#1 brightest)
Elektrolumens Blaster II (#2 brightest)
mMag AA with Opalec Newbeam
Brinkmann Legend 2AA/Badboy 500
3 AAA Collimator LS light from shoplifestyle.com (search "flashlights" if you want a pic)
Arc LSH blemished
and a couple of (1 LED) lights

The Legend LX is the brightest of the bunch - I guess around 60-70 Lumens and runs for around 1 hr? I have looked at the Surefire lights and they are really nice but seem overpriced. Saw the Pelican M6 and thought ok, 108 lumens and same batteries/runtime as the Brinkmann but I stopped myself there deciding to check with you CPF'ers before I buy another light.

The light I am seeking is not for bragging rights, just the one I will grab when I want the most light. Weight does not matter and carrying it on person is preferable but not absolutely necessary. Throw or flood is fine, just the most light is with what I'm concerned. Thanks to each of you who replied.
 
I have to agree, Get a tigerlight.... Incredible output for its size, and tough indeed. And I may have my spare FBOP for sale soon /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
