Brightest HID under 200$ ?

Brightest? I can tell you the ONLY known HID light under $200 in production but it's not really a flashlight it's a spotlight, the UK Light Cannon...I see in another thread you've heard of it. There is something called the MiniHID here that sold for $300 or so but that is custom made and I believe they are no longer selling them....that would have been the ideal flashlight /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif But get yourself that surge, you wont be disappointed for $20

No doubt about it. The Havis-Shields light is easily 3 times brighter than the UK Light Cannon if not more. And the HS(Havis-Shields) was only $10 more then my Light Cannon /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. I absolutely love my HS /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a good question. My only guess is the light (actually 40 of them grouped together) on top of the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas.

It's 40 one billion CP xenon short arc (form of HID) spotlights grouped together. I once saw a satellite picture of it and there really wasn't any light on the map close to its power.(total light is actually 41.5 BILLION CP!!!)

I'm pretty sure that the Luxor light is brighter.

I'd guess the Havis Shields would be it. Kenrad has some nice 50 watters, but they're certainly not under $200

and a 50 watt ballast

I am going to mod the new 15 mcp thor if they ever become available.
