I'm sure we've all seen this little light, it looks like a M*g LED 2D light, except $15 cheaper. Since I can't find a review of it, nor a picture of it on Brinkmann's website, I will post one. I will take some shots of the light and beamshots tomorrow.
The light sells for $20 at Wal-Mart and is nearly identical to the M*g 3W LED light it is copying with one difference, it's not an adjustable beam. It's is throw only.
The light is lightweight aluminum, will probably dent from a decent fall, and had what appears to be a plastic lens. I can't tell what kind of LED is in it, as the reflector is in the head of the light very tight, I didn't want to break my $20 immediately When the 2D cells are inserted they tend to rattle just a tad, a little padding on the sides will take care of that problem. It balances well in the hand when holding it and the side-clicky is a little stiff. Push for on/off, momentary press, just like the M*g.
The beam is a nice bright white, running on 2 Energizer Max D cells. Fresh out of the pack. Up close when I get pics up, you will see very noticeable rings in the beamshot, kinda distracting up close. But move that spot out further and they go away completely, as does the darkness
This light will throw, I think it will actually outdo the M*g LED. Just toying around outside, there is a field behind my house that is a good 75 yards across to some trees. It will light up the trees on the other side. I will try to get some pics of that, but it will be difficult.
I am really rather surprised at this light. I think it is well worth the $20, even if it does turn into a project host. I will try to get some pics up tomorrow.
This is the only link to a picture of the light that I can find anywhere on the 'net.
