BUILDING A BIG BATTERY PACK

I have the fluxient 3000 lumens beast.
It has a 8800mah battery but I either want to build a bigger one or same again for a spare.
On high I only get 2.5 hours and need more
the question is where can I get the protection boards from in the uk or a very trustworthy non uk supplier.
I suppose if I build the same spec again I can use the original charger.
Any help much appreciated. Thanx.

What's your experience with welding to large cells? There are some risks in doing so - Damaging the cells being the least of them. Why not buy one from one of the vendors who are pretty good at it? To make a big change in your runtime you'll be looking for a very large pack: 4P 26650s, or 6P hi-capacity 18650s at least.

Why not use LiPo packs? They have pretty linear discharge curve and low voltage drop at high discharge currents.

It will be much easier to use LiPo pack for RC - check Turnigy nano-tech A-SPEC 6600mah 2S - take 2 and you have 13200mah :]
