Hi guys,

I am designing a torch that is running 3 x XPC (RGB) at 100ma that can take either a AAA NIMH or 10440 to be used for the circus.

There is a TI buck/ boost converter in the circuit and a PIC micro. I am guessing the circuit will be fine if protected 10440 are used but i am concerned that despite putting warnings on the torch someone will use an unprotected 10440. Is it likely that the discharged battery will damage the circuit while in use?

After reading some posts (new to the lith ion relm) it is my understanding that the danger of discharging 10440 below 2.5v is when recharging the battery?

To prevent this do I have to put a voltage cut out in the circuit, and if so what should this be?

thanks
