Burning

I don't understand the appeal. Blowtorches are good tools for burning/heating. A nice big magnifying glass is pretty cool on a sunny day.
I guess you need a big, battery sucking halogen light or something like that.

...agreed... I was trying to figure out what is so appealing about this concept. Don't you have to hold the flashlight so close to something to get it to burn/ignite that you might as well just use a lighter? Generally combustion and a flashlight are the two last things I want to hear in the same sentence.

...well...if you take a solarforce, add a blank pill with the negative and positive soldered together, insert an 18650, click the switch.... A burning torch for less than $75! 😛

maglite solitaire

0) remove battery from bottom end
1) get some baby vice grips and carefully crack the bulb and remove glass without breaking filament
2) reassemble light
3) insert battery
4) turn on

it will burn

Maybe i don't like lighters? And nevermind, a guy on Laser Pointer Forums found a way to make one for about $27.
