hello people,

i'm looking for a headlamp, i need it to be quite specific, i wanna use it to throw more light on my electronics project while soldering. but i wanna use it also outdoor.

i was thinking about these two products.

1) DX link removed
2)Ultrafire UF-H2 Headlamp

what would you pick and why ?

or if you have better options, please let me know
thanks so much

Of the two I'd recommend the UF-H2 due to its similarity to a Zebralight, but by that same token, I'd suggest a Zebralight over the Ultrafire clone any day, assuming your budget can stretch to accommodate it. The Zebralights are extraordinarily versatile and well made, and worth every penny of their cost.

thanks, the first was a product at dx,
i didn't know i could post an url.

it is a typical classical headset, with a non detachable led and battery pack.

well i don't know if my budget strecht up to a zebralight.

what is important is that i can choose between a wide flood and a focused beam.

Unless you're willing to spend some serious cabbage on a custom made caving light, you won't find anything like that in the high end headlamps. (At least not ones that will make the most of every single lumen they put out.)

But, eGear makes a focusable headlamp that's around $40, energizer makes one also about $40, and there are a couple of LED Lenser models that also have focusable beams, but they will be more than $40.

thanks,

i will go with a non zoomable lens then.

but why would i buy an UF-H2 ? it is a torch that you can mount on a handband, but to use it as a hand torch it is maybe to weak ? what do you see as the advantage over something like a petzl (for example)

thanks
