Chromatophile, yes and yes. The exposure for Macs is considerably less than for the PC (Platform Challenged) crowd running MS software, but it there are still "things" out there that can zap the unwary.

Start out checking on the Norton stuff from Symantec. It's probably the easiest to find, but there are others, too.

Check some of the Mac sites (MacFixit, MacWorld, etc.) to see if there are reviews of the software and/or recommendations.

I plan to be moving to HS access in about March when I move, and will be going through the same thing then.

Take care,

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Of course it is, Macs are a proprietary design with proprietary software, and make up maybe 4% of all the PCs in the world!

If you are an attention starved pimply faced goof with a chip on your shoulder, or even an Al-Qaeda terrorist, why do something obnoxious to such a small population?! Its practically a waste of time!

Not only that, but you Mac users are privledged with paying 20-30% more for all your hardware and software that a comperable PC user could get because of the proprietary nature of your computer design. Basic economics. Less competition, and less sales = higher prices.

The real issue though, is that there are bugs, and holes, and "features" in every design and operating system that can be used for no good. Everyone, for all computer designs and operating systems, should be at least using Anti-Virus software and a software firewall or a NAT based hardware router/gateway for protection from Internet nasties.
