I am trying to find good, strong, long lasting batteries and charger to use in Mag-C mods (or even D-Li-Ion).

I have used the AW-C batteries and like them, however, there seems to be a lot more on the market now, and since I am clueless about batteries and how they function, I am turning to the experts:)

The AW batteries work fine, however, at $26ea, gets quite expensive- FAST!!
This is one I looked at-
https://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3294
How does it compare?

I also have a set of "C-long" batteries rated at 3000mah and a bit larger than the AW batteries made by Sony.

Can anyone enlighten me on the options for "C" replacement batteries?
The different options?
Sources to purchase?
Differences in the batteries?
Etc, etc?
Length is not an issue as a light can always be cut down from the next larger size or an extension made.

Any info is greatly appreciated:)
THANKS!!!

Well other than AW's protected 3300 mAh C Cell batteries that he sells under Dealer marketplace, it is pretty slim pickins for consumers. Slightly longer are the non-explosive Emoli Lithium cells at 3000mAh & $17 each.

What can you tell me about the Emoli batteries?
Info?
Where to purchase?
Compared to AW-C?

Ever try the "C" battery in the link above?

Thanks for the response:)

Those are a little over 1/2" longer than a "c" cell alkaline (50mm). AW's are quite a bit shorter at 53.5mm vs 65mm for the ones at batteryspace. They might be good if you run 2 plus a spacer in a 3C mag size light or run 2 in a D mag with a very slight tail spring modification. (D cell alkalines 4 mm shorter than the "long C")

Oh my bad, I searched for 26500 and this came up. Didn't know how old this thread was.
I found some AW 26500 C cells, but I cant find a charger for them. Does anyone know where I can buy a charger?

You might try Kaidomain; they made a dedicated C&D lithium-ion charger. Not sure if it's still available, though; my bookmarks are 404ing, but their website's changed a lot since then.

Also, while we're necromancing, anyone know of sub-C lithium ion cells?

I have a couple of the KD C&D Li-ion chargers - I much prefer the Hobby chargers and no longer use my KD ones.

The Accucell-6 is a versatile, inexpensive, and well-regarded hobby charger. It does need an external power supply, but a suitable supply from an old laptop works fine. That's a good way to go.

If you want the simplest possible solution, dedicated chargers for LiIon cells are available from Battery Space and others. You'll still need to rig up a method of connecting the cell(s).

Rather than me blathering on at length, see this post of mine, from another thread.
