I like the size of these lithium type lights but what is the main difference? I'm not wild about all the knurling on the e1/e2 series for pocket or belt carry....I ruin enough clothes with my P7....

well, the c3 carries 3 batteries, and is much brighter with the hola. also, it is bigger, as it has to carry another batt. the e series is more of a personal light, wereas the c3 is intended more for "combat".

i *love* the knurling on the e2e myself, i didn't know such perfect knurling existed, it still isn't sharp enough, but nothing is /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The C3 would be a bit long for pocket carry, the E2E would be just nice. The C3 is a lot brighter than the E2E. At minimum, twice as bright, at most, 3+ times as bright. Really depends on what you are going to use your lights for.

we need to know your intended uses.

just a good replacement for my scorpion..want to leave that one on my gun belt....like to have a nice small tactical light....ideally, an e1e if bright enough...I really like the output of my scorpion but I know I would be giving ups some with the e12...

the E1 is a moot point with the KL1 led head imo. my brother has an E1E and i was unimpressed, for slightly longer length you can get the much brighter E2E. it fits the hand better as well.

to (out)match the scorpion you'll want the E2E, the best sf and EDC imo. the C3 is too large for EDC.

If you want to keep a backup light on your duty belt, then I would suggest a three cell such as the C3 as you mentioned, or the SF Z3. What I like about the Z3 is that there is no clip and it has the grip made ready for the Rogers technique (even though I still use the Harries technique, but the grip makes it fundamentally easier for me to use the Harries method with the isosceles pan-left, pan-right scheme). Depending on what your department approves, I like the SideArmor holster that fits the bezel down and keeps the ride height stable on the Sam Brown. Plus, like the V70 holster, it allows for a tactically correct "first" draw.

In addition, the 105Lu output makes it all that much better. The downside: as mentioned earlier - the size (during carry).

Just a thought...

When you say gunbelt, do you mean duty belt or CCW gun belt?? If you mean duty I would say go with the C3. With the right carrier that increased bulk is not problem, and the light output is very nice.

For ccw, the E2e hides much much easier while still giving plenty of light to be tactically useful. I find that the 15 lumen bulb in the E1 is just a bit to limited for my tastes, but love the 25 lumen mno2 in my E2. It may not dazzle and stun like the bigger lamps will (might?), but it still lets me identify people and things in the dark out to 40 or 50 yards easily.

I have the E1, E2, and C3. I have to support the E2. It's so much brighter than the E1, especially for the small increase in size. The C3 is obviously brighter than the E2, but not enough to justify the size increase.

Also I find the E2 to be much more comfortable than the E1 in my hand.

It's for CCW carry..and it looks like it's the e2e..thank you my illuminating comrades...
