Ok, The updated list....
Double A
Jim H
Unnerv
Mc Gizmo (Maybe, if he's free)
Jpeg
Keithhr
Wanye and Cindy (possibly)
Kevin
Ho-yin
One of my closet flashaholic buddies (if he's free)

Sounds like we'll need 1 combination, 1 veggie and 1 sausage pizza, some garlic bread, a six pack each of Pepsi, Barqs, Squirt. I don't do diet, so we don't normally have any on hand. Anyone who wants a specific diet drink, send me a PM. My wife has offered to pick some up.

The weather forcast is for warm and clear. High of 84 on Saturday.

Who cares about "warm and clear" - all we care about is "dark" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif

Well, Jim, I care about the "warm" part. I don't want to have to shiver as I try to shine the lights on distant surfaces.

Paul, we look forward to seeing you.,

Hey, Unnerv, don't forget the "goodies" for the door prizes. We'll pass out the door prizes right after Pizza so everyone can be in the drawing this time.

Daniel

I talked to Ho-yin and he won't be able to make it. It looks like the final list is looking like:
Double A
Jim H
Unnerv
Mc Gizmo (Maybe, if he's free)
Jpeg
Keithhr
Wanye and Cindy (possibly)
Kevin
PaulB (possibly)
and possibly Gadgets closet flashaholic

HI Folks,

When you get to my street tomorrow, you will find that it's got a divider running down the middle. If you come in from the east (via broxton) you'll have to go past the house and hang a u-turn.

If this helps, you will find this in my driveway;

Most people find the truck easier to spot than the address. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As a relative newbie to the CA bay area get together, I am unfamiliar with the door prize tradition. Is there anything I need to bring? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Yes! Bring a prize for yourself to assure winning. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There's a chance an East Coast ambassador could join the party -- I'll be flying in tomorrow. Both timing (6pm drinks with a friend) and transport would be tricky, though. Anyone driving from Berkeley (and back afterwards)? Actually, with BART a mile away, I could probably make it *there*, but getting back could be a problem. (Both cause it'll be late and cuz there's a 2-mile walk -- to the drink -- queued up ahead of this one.)

Anyone know any *bicycle rental* places in Berkeley?!

Please reply here; I'll try to check back tomorrow afternoon. Which is actually this afternoon; ugh. Obviously, if someone does kindly offer a ride but doesn't hear from me... just go ahead without me (and thanks anyway).

gadget_lover, in case I do wind up coming by BART, which BART station is the one a mile from you? And do you, by any chance, have your precise lat/long handy? If I come on my own, electronic navigational assistance would be helpful!

It seems a bit of a long shot that this will work out, but if it does I look forward to meeting the people behind some familiar CPF handles.

-Greg

PS Including some modders... shall I bring my wallet? :-)

Hi inluxication. The nearest bart is the Dublin/Pleasanton station. Depending on when you arrive, someone could run over to pick you up. Heck, we might even give you a ride back. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif It's a mile as the crow flies, but more like two if you have to follow surface streets.

Exact co-ordinates....
37.14.814 N
121.52.304 w

Per my Garmin E-map. Oh, that's my backyard, so you may still need to look for the truck.

Daniel

Neither a wallet nor gift is needed to attend. Some folks bring cool or unusual toys to give away. Dat2zip has been QUITE generous in the past. We have a raffle where everyone has an equal chance.

We did not get to the raffle at our last meeting, so there's a lot of loot already accumulated. This time we'lll make sure it's distributed.

Daniel

BTW, my reference to bringing a wallet was only because there are modders in the group, and I could imagine *wanting* stuff! (Though as wingerr and daloosh will attest, I'm one of the more restrained CPF buyers.)

Sensible would be my description!

Out of idle curiousity, I looked at my map, and I pegged the address at 37.69689 N, 121.87205 W
What were the units from your eMap? Just wondering if it was DD.MM.mmm or ?

I'm pretty sure that it's degrees, minutes, seconds. The Garmin way of doing things. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I read it this morning. I just looked at another map and it appears that 121.87205 W may be correct. I'd heard that there might be some inaccuracies due to testing this weekend. I wonder if that was the case. I'll check again tomorrow.

Inluxication made it to the get together so there were 9 of us in all. I think we had a good time. Most everyone stayed till afetr 11 PM.

It was good to get together again and see a couple of new faces. Thanks Daniel for hosting. We'll have to do it again in a couple of months.

I enjoyed myself. Next time maybe we should thing about having Game Hens for dinner after seeing the "Bird Fryer" lol!

Thank you Daniel for hosting the most recent Bay Area Get Together. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif Woah, did I see some cool lights ! It was nice to put faces with some of the CPF names.
