don't waste any $ on a light w/ Cabela's name on it...unless they are practically giving them away. a 6P is an excellent idea but i would suggest going w/ an incan and getting an LED lamp elsewhere. Moddoo makes a good point, Cabela's isn't necessarily the best place to purchase SF's. no less, Cabela's does have excellent customer service...just don't expect to get the same person twice. i recently dumped a couple xmas and bday cards for an A2 in the bargain cave that was a demo...perfect condition and also an Energizer Nightstrike, the swivel version. i highly recommend this light...very cool, great utility light.

Have you owned a Cabela's branded light? Or is this just snobbery? Because I own an XPG9V and the quality is better than any Fenix I've owned.

Definitely check in-store bargain cave. I saw a ridiculous deal on an M3 before i even knew what an M3 was. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it.

it comes from reading plenty of reviews on there...the bulk of the criticism tends to lean to the negative. it also comes from having purchased 3 different halogen spotlamps w/ their name on them over the years and not having one last an entire summer. it also comes from the fact that the first LED flashlights i ever saw was in their catalog a little over 10 years ago. needless to say i was very excited. i begged my Dad for one for christmas and at $35 he bought one...a price i wouldn't have dreamed of spending at the time. their description highlighted the obvious "advantages" while being as bright as a 2-3 cell Mag. it wasn't, i've never kept it anywhere but my bedroom. i gutted it a few months back and we'll eventually make it into something useful.

Bummer!

Same here, the nearest Cabela's to me is in Reno.

Was.lost, I would consider an E2e. It is out of your comfort zone being an incan but I think you will be pleasantly surprised. There is a rechargable setup with IMR cells and a Lumens Factory lamp that make it a pocket rocket (I don't have this setup but paintballdad is selling one in the Marketplace). Or you could get a Minimus if they sell them. I use mine every night when I read my daughters bed time stories.

Go on, I quadruple dog dare you!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I got a chance to go again yesterday and have another look. I checked out the G2, 6P, 6P Defender, as well as the Cabela's version of the 6P. Cabela's also has a line of warm emitter leds (advertised as 3700K) and those were the first warm emitters I have seen in person. I think I may be a changed man. I honestly would have bought one on the spot except they are not directly rechargeable compatible. What I think that means for me is I'm going to go with either a 6P, 6P defender, or G2 and buy a warm emitter drop in. I just can't decide which one between those. I fondled them all for some time and like things about each of them. I really want the G2 but I'm worried about the heat management from an led drop in. 6P Defender feels great, but the more I played with the tactical push/twist on the G2/6P the more I got to like it. SO I'm still stuck, I always take way too long to make decisions:confused:.
