I have a flashlight that can accept voltages from 3.6 to 9 volts and was wondering if I can use a 6 volt alkaline battery for it even though it was not designed for a 6 volt battery. Here are the batteries that I am thinking about. http://www.batteryjunction.com/laba.html I just want to wire it to my flashlight. The driver for my light in high mode sends 1.5 amp to the emitter. What kind of capacities do these 6 volts have and what kind of runtime will I expect to see if the Led is receiving 1.5 amps.
Can I use a 6 volt battery?

Assuming since you said "driver" and "emitter" and since the power source falls well within the operating voltage my answer to your first and title question is emphatically YES! As far as capacities all I can say is Huge runtime which will have less to do with the amps at the emitter and more to do with amps at the driver or from the cells. (read efficiency here). Plug it in, turn it on and post some pictures!
