I used a modamag draco for many years (still looks as good as the day I got it) however the O ring started lossening and the head kept coming off and I was too nervous to keep using it and moved to a Maratac. The maratac is a copper edition which I like, however it is a bit heavy and much larger then the draco. So now i'm looking into getting something new. I would prefer something the size of the draco however a little larger is fine (but smaller then the maratac). Been looking at the peak eiger 10180 (I can only find a SS version not a bronze), DQG AAA, and Lummi Wee titanium.

I use it occasionally and does not need to be a 1 or 2 hour light (just 5 minutes or more) and I love an impressive amount of light output. Durability is very important. I would like to keep it less then $100 if possible.

Didn't notice the Quantum DD before and that does look good. How does the programming work? IE on the draco it remembered the last setting so I always had it on the brightest however on the maratac I always had to twist 3 times to get to the brightest (kinda annoying).

I like the idea of the O ring for the draco however I don't know which O ring it was. I guess I can email modamag however I thought he doesn't really come here much and not sure I could still find him. Swapping the emitter is well beyond my tech ability (but love the idea).

There is no programming. You simply twist more for more light. Light output is controlled by a quantum tunneling foam, the more pressure is on the foam, the lower the resistance.

Also look at MBI HF. Really cool light by another guy on the forum.

Thanks for advice. I was able to get a hold of Modamag and he is sending O rings for me. However, I was curious about the other 2 lights that were recommended (Quantum DD and MBI HF). I have orders in for both of those.

The iTP A3 EOS Upgraded might be worth a look. It is a AAA keychain light equipped with a Cree XP-G R5 emitter. It has three distinct levels starting with low. I recommend using an Energizer Ultimate Lithium cell if it gets occasional use. It is impressively bright using this cell. Use a rechargeable NiMH cell if it gets frequent use. Don't use alkaline cells in this or any other good light. I've been using this light on my key ring for several weeks and I just love it. It costs just $20.
