How would you carry a large (~2.5 pound) Mag? I'm thinking some kind of belt holster, or better still, a lanyard that you can attach to the Mag.. perhaps something you can sling over a shoulder.

If there's a better place for this, mods please feel free to move it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The way police carry lights is in belt rings. Even the old 6-12 cell clunkers. Other than holding it in your hand, that's about the best way.

A company at one point made a sleeve that went over the Mag and hasda shoulder strap. It would be easy enough to make one. Call it the Ray-O-Vac Sportsman look.

Maglite also offers a "Lanyard Ring Tail Cap" with part# ASXD108 that I could not find on their website. It replaces the D-size stock tailcap with one that has a built-in d-ring. I think it only comes in black and most places sell it for less than $10. HTH!

I have a few holders like in the one ksbman posted the link to - a couple in black basket weave, and the other in brown smooth leather (matched our old Sam Browne). These were issued to us so we could carry our issue Bright Star 3 D Director-lites, but also fit my old 4 D Kel-lite. We used to also be issued a black basket weave with round brass ring to carry our old straight solid batons. I have used that on my belt to carry my 3 C Mag, but have since used black electrical tape to cover the ring and have this snapped over my jacket epaulette to carry the car-issued Polystinger.

HA HA HA.( sarcasm) Theodore Roosevelt is my role model! ( yah right)

I never bought one of those 'logs'. I bought a G2 instead. Its almost, if not brighter, than the other and is lighterm cooler, and overall... just better.

p.s. If I bought one, I would use it to train myself ( wieght lifting) nothing else.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think my belt will give way or I will walk sideways. Now I truly understand the point about lightening the duty belt. Friends used to be able to tell when I was carrying a 9-pound laptop in a bag.. because I'd lean against the weight. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif The shoulder strap sounds interesting though.

My C2 does pocket/belt carry duty, and it is great stuff at five ounces. The Mag on the other hand has another purpose in life, to be turned into a 1100 lumen man-portable flamethrower that needs to be taken out occasionally to show the unbelievers the LIGHT /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif

Yeah, as I posted, it was not on the Maglite website. I didn't post a link because I don't generally endorse dealers when I reply in these threads. Your link is the highest I have ever seen for the part... it is much cheaper from Tyler Tool Company. HTH.
