I'm looking for a watch with a rubber strap. Nylon soaks up sweat and smells. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif The Casio Club G looked the best to me but the band was too small. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Any other recommendations?

G-Shock......tough as nails. I have both a DW-6600 and a DW-5600E and really like them. The DW-6600 is a larger watch and the DW-5600E is the smaller, squarish classic design.

Hey, that looks like a nice one.......nice price too. But I thought the Club-G's band was too small for you?

[/ QUOTE ] The one in the store with a design on it was, I really like this watch and if it's too short I'll just buy a longer band.

G-Shocks are great watches. For a while, I used one as my primary dive (scuba) watch. Now, I use one as my backup (to a computer). They are cheap, durable and waterproof.

[/ QUOTE ] LOL, had one, sold it. Overpriced and the plastic band is stiff, uncomfortable and looked funny. It might have broken in after use but didn't want to mess with it. At the old price they were overpriced, since the price increase they're rediculous.

Like Obeck said, Casio's are cheap and durable. Looks to be better quality and defenitely more functions than Luminox. I always beat up my watches and they break or start looking really crappy so I buy a new watch every 1-3 years anyway so Casio and Timex are perfect.

very true...i've never had a casio stop working, be it a g-shock or a basic model. i have a DW-8300 that i stopped wearing only because it was too big, but its never given me any problems.

I've heard of G-shocks getting killed by electrostatic discharge (someone walked across a carpet, touched a doorknob and got a big spark, and his watch went dead). I guess any electronic watch must be susceptable to that. I haven't had that happen to any of mine, however.

You apparently haven't had it happen to a G-shock either. It must be a non-issue. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I bought a 5600E last week as a watch to use at work.

As I always do with my work watches I took the band off and carry the watch in my shirt pocket.

If anyone one would like the band drop me an e-mail and I'll stick it in an envelope and mail it to you.
