Sold/Expired "Cat Surgery" Sale.. [BOTH SOLD] *Cat update!*

Well, my girlfriend's rambunctious lil' cat decided to see if he could jump down her 2nd story porch yesterday - and, in fact, he could, and did. However, I don't think he thought much about the landing! So after going to the emergency animal hospital yesterday, our vet this morning, and then an orthopedic surgeon today (which is where he'll be until Wednesday), poor Corduroy is tired out, and in need of surgery to repair some crushed bones in his wrist. And since my girlfriend has started a new job, and has yet to get the always awesome first paycheck, John gets to pay for it!

Long story short, when I checked my bank balance this morning after paying for the surgery down payment, and saw a minus sign, I came to the sad realization that I had to sell a couple lights (maybe more?) to try and get by. Pet insurance doesn't sound so crazy after this!

SO, one crazy cat's bad decision is a flashaholic's gain!

Corduroy is home now!

He had essentially crushed the bones in his wrist, so the only way to allow them to heal properly was to fuse them together, so his little paw is going to be in the same position from now on. They took bone from his shoulder and fused it into his wrist, so he's got stitches in his shoulder as well. They also shaved his other front leg for the IV fluids, and an area near his shoulder blade for a pain medication patch. He's a sight to see!

So far, he's only been resting - he eats out of my girlfriend's hand, and drinks when you put a little cup of water in front of him... although he's so spoiled, that neither of those things are a first!

Ok, here's a photo! It was pretty dark in the room (lightened in Photoshop), so you'll have to excuse the slight blurriness... we did manage to get a "belly rub" rollover, so he was looking right at me, and not understanding why I was taking his picture instead of rubbing his tummy!

(If you can't tell, that's a heart on his cast, from the vet!)

THANKS TO ALL who'd pm'd and emailed and posted here - Cords is a tough little guy, but he's loved to no end (sorry easilyled... he's staying here!!), and in 6 weeks, he'll have the cast off, and 6 more weeks of "no jumping" (yeah right), and he should start to get back to being a normal trouble-making cute little guy.

Now I have to go pay attention to my cat for a while before I go back... but I'm already getting the silent treatment from Oatie. :ironic:

Glad he's doing better - I know selling your lights was an unexpected surprise, but I'm sure Cord will more than make up for that during your time together. Plus, you can always find replacement lights later...

Corduroy is very very cute and I'm sure he deserves what you did for him. Needless to say, you're one great guy for being so kind to your little furry fella!!! It's good to hear that he's on the mend.
