Challenge: 1x18650 Thrower, less than 60 bucks

Anything out there that can fit the challenge? All that comes to mind is the V9 thrower of Crelant.

The V9 T6 is on top, it has a Lux of about 24k.

ANSI FL-1 standard for stating a light's throwing distance is the distance at which the peak beam intensity (usually at the center of the beam) is 0.25 lux. I calculate throwing distance and candela (lux at 1 meter) by measuring peak beam intensity at five different distances and using the formula lux*distance^2=constant.

The V9CS is the light replacing the V9 T6, same reflector and head size, different electronics, SS on both ends, side switch for mode switching, hidden Strobe and SOSm better tailstand ability yet still at a very reasonable price of less than 60 bucks shipped.

It's not Fenix or Sunwayman quality, but for the price it's very bright and very throw-y. I like mine.

I have a C20C Sunwayman on the way, $69 delivered, it is a XM-L, does that take it out of the thrower category? It should work with Callies 3100's

I'm also on the lookout for a new High tech G2 emitter with a single 18650, so I'll watch this thread too.

Me too, i have a C20C on its way to me. It does have a smooth reflector, but may not be deep enough to provide good throw. I'll test this when mine arrives next or next next week :) The EC2 was a better thrower, but with the issues some CPF'ers have been having, I choose to hold off purchasing the light.

Yeah agree on the XPG2 emitter.

Ultrafire HD2010? From what I've been reading, it seems like a well throwing light with it's large reflector. It's meant for 26650 batteries, but it also takes a 18650 battery. It's a budget light but reviews say the quality is decent.

rule of thumb is, that any light (from the cheapo offering shops) with a big reflector, gives a very good throw.

Just check for a head that is fist sized (or bigger)

+1 the UF HD2010 has good heatsyncing, huge reflector and runs in direct drive on high. The better the battery, the brighter it gets ;)
So if you ran an Aw IMr 18650 it'd run at 4-5 amps, and has the head size to handle the heat.

The new C8's can be pretty awesome. I recently purchased an Ultrafire C8 U2 bin XML. Is fairly compact, uses a single 18650. I tested mine at 3.5 amps at the tailcap. And it put out 872 lumens otf. Also has a throw of 34200 lux. That's a real life throw of about 400 yards.
Best part is it only cost $18. An awesome light for the price --
