Anybody have a charger made specifically for AW's Li-Ion C cells? I've been rigging them up to my Pila IBC, but I would prefer a more direct approach. Thanks.

I use a Voltcraft 4 cell cradle, detailed in this thread:
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=160942

and then for a 4 cell balancing charger, I use a
Micro-Controlled Li-Po/Li-ion Balance Charger w/ LCD Display, which is the predecessor to this:

The cradles are here at www.conrad.de:

But I can't recall if there was some problems getting conrad to ship to the US.

Anyway, that's what I use. YMMV...

The battery cradle that's included with the package from LITEmania is too snug, IMO. Getting the cell in and out was awkward, and one of the springs even snagged and slightly tore the shrink wrap on one of my cells. I replaced the cradle with a slightly larger one from Radio Shack, and I was much happier with it.

I switched to the DN/Tenergy balancing charger w/Conrad cradle combo since I have a few multi-"C" cell builds.

Would cutting the spring down a bit help? I don't have one yet, just wondering.
It might reduce the chances of snagging the shrink wrap, but the springs alone weren't the problem for me. In the picture on LITEmania's thread, you'll notice the sides of the cradle round in. The tight fit along the length of the cell caused by the curved sides, plus the short overall length and the stiff springs sums up to an overall tight fit that I didn't care for. A standard C cell probably fits fine, but extra length and width of AW "C"s doesn't leave much slack in that holder. I tried bending the sides out some, even considered cutting them off altogether and was debating other ways of modding the cradle to make it more accommodating or just ditching the holder and using a clamp. There was a Rat Shack within walking distance of my office, so I stoppend in there on a whim to see if a D cell holder would work better. Turned out their C cell holder was much roomier, and only cost $1.25 or so. Snip, snip, solder, solder, shrink, shrink and it was good to go.
