Hi everybody,

I used 8 eneloops with my TK40, and I have one 4-slot Sanyo charged which shipped with the eneloops, and one old(er) 4-slot Energizer charger. So far so good. They seem to work. Still, I would like to get a better/safer chager, but my budget is very limited.

Amazon cells the La Cross BC-700 for 30 bucks. Only 4 slots, but the features are enticing. Is that a good choice? If I get it, what is the best mode to recharge my eneloops?

If not, what should I get?

Thanks,

FG

The BC-700 @ $30 delivered is a great deal. I have an older BC-900 and charge AA eneloops at 700mA. Set the display is show all voltage readings at the same time and when the voltage gets above 1.47 (eneloops) touch the cells every once in a while to see if they are getting HOT. They should not get hot, but may get warm when the charge reads about 1.50v - 1.52v (on my unit). This is when the charger tells me that they are fully charged.

I had a Maha a few years back and is was fantastic, but was overkill for my needs; and I didn't like the display as much as the BC's.

I have the exact same flashlight and batteries and I love my Titanium Innovations M-8800 charger.

Based on your need to charge 8 batteries at once and stay on a budget, I would agree with this recommendation. Maha has the 800S which will do 8 AA batteries at once, but costs twice as much.

I ordered the M-8800. The low price is about perfect for me. Many, many thanks to everybody for your replies.

Congratulations on the new purchase. Not too many people here on CPF have the Titanium Innovations M-8800 charger aside from myself and a few others. The instructions on the LCD readout aren't great, so I provided some information on how to read the LCD display in post number 13 of this thread:

If you have any questions about your new charger, please ask away. :)
