A friend of mine got one last fall and wasn't happy with it. He asked me if I could put a LS in it. It's not to hard to do if you have a Dremel tool with a HSS router bit.
The leds are held in with a rolled bezel, file this down and the led slug can be pushed out from the back. Saw offthe contact end to use in the mod. Ream out the front part to take a copper tube coupler (the one that is about 1in outside diameter). Use an LS Star and the LS optics. The star should fit in the reamed hole and the copper coupler will hold it in. the optics fit nicely in the coupler. Use the old contact piece to solder the leads and the optional resistor and carefuly epoxy the whole thing together. I made a split ring to hold the optic in while the epoxy set and just left it there. Worked OK, even put a Kroll switch on it.
Will post pics when he gets home and I can get it from him..
