I've been looking since yesterday for some easy to instal drop-in for my old Mag 3D but I didn't really find anything convincing. Everything I found has to be further processed or modded like for example the DX drop-ins.

I want something plug and play (excl. batteries, I'll take care of them myself) that offers over 300lm and costs not more then 40 bucks.

If it can run off 3 alkalines that would be interesting, otherwise either Eneloops or 26650s (18650s eventually accepted).

Drop me a mail if you have such a gizmo lying around or recommend me a seller. haewatein ^AT^ gmail ^ com

I'm also interested in REAL powerful plug and play drop-ins for higher prices (under 100 bucks for over 1500lm).

I recently put a Malkoff mag 3D dropin in an old maglite I got in a trade. I'm very happy with it, and I think they are still on sale right now.

I read now

and

and tried to find additional similar threads but in the end I still don't see anything that comes close to my desired concept. Everything has to be modded or ends up in a poof :sigh:

I reduce the battery choices for the mag mod now, it has to be powered either by alkalines (I don't expect anything great from that anyway), AAs (Eneloops) or 26650s. No 26500s since I have no need for them for other lights I own. My Maelstrom X10 doesn't take it and my JR T12 is going to be sold soon.
