even though i realize the shelf lift of the 123's are around 10yrs , according to the pkg.... if i put them in the refrig will it extend /keep same/or shorten their life span?

(presume id' use them at room temp)

This has come up here before. Unless something has changed, refrigeration is not necessary or recommended.

Keep you batteries in a place that is cool and dry. 50-70 °F. No major battery manufacturer that I have found recommends refrigeration. You also have the chance of introducing condensation and possible corrosion.
