I would like some technical information if possible for the >15mw laser which I have purchased from megalaser,This laser is used almost daily in a nightclub environment and does indeed get used significantly What is the recomended method for cleaning any dust particles and or smoke residue such as that created by a smoke machine, yep the oily stuff , from the outlet apeture, ie, what solution/s and or materials are recomended, without causing any damage ? Still very happy with this laser despite this small inconvenience. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It should have a glass IR filter. I've had good luck just using a good quality lens cloth [clean one of course], use my finger to force a bit of it into the apeture and then twisting the cloth [or laser] back and forth. It works for dust. Smoke might require you dampen the lens cloth with some windex first.

A local eyeglass shop should have spray cleaner that's safe to use on all optics. Spray to a cotton swab - clean with one end and dry with the other.

Alcohol on a cotton Q-tip gets rid of everything... but my Zbolt and Megalaser units have end-caps that don't come off. The laser aperture is about the size of a Q-tip swab's shaft, so some of the cotton will probably have to be pulled off first. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
Or, the cotton could be *partially* pulled off, with most of the swab's end twisted up into another "shaft" on the end.

Be sure your hands are washed well with soap & water and dried BEFORE you start.

Thanks for that advice, the cotton swab did the trick with some window cleaning, water based solution, which gives me a clear concentrated spot and damn its scary, id seriously hate to have that green monster in my eye. Nice review from the led museum by the way. Just got myself a photon fusion thanks to the forum. I think im becoming a Flashaholic thanks to this forum. My next purchase is going to be a spaceneedle 2 or similar, my 3,000,000 candlepower torch ive got is just not feeding the addiction anymore. Thanks guys.
