No it would not be safe to use the 14500 battery (3.6V) with the BadBoy converter. The BB is designed for use with primaries, i.e., CR123 with an input voltage of 3V max.

Would this drop into a Mini-Mag? I already have O-rings and optics.Also what is the tint colour? I can't stand any hint of green in my LED's. I'd prefer violet-blue rather than green.

Yes, these would fit the Mini-Mag.

Unfortunately, both of the bins that I have on these drivers, i.e., TX1J and TV1K, can have some green in them.

Of all the CNC-123s that I've sold with these drivers, and including the sandwiches that I've sold separately, none have been tinted so noticeably that any one has complained about them.

Still, I can safely say that neither of them is likely to have a violet-blue tint, sorry.

Maybe you should just sign up for the new Groovy! which will come either with TW0J or TY0J Lux IIIs. The TY0J sounds perfect for you! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would like to order 2 for $80. I want to put them in a minimag. I would like 2 kroll switches for $10? and would like 2 optics but need to know the difference between the NX05 and the Fraen Narrow beam. Do both fit the Minimag? I would assume the narrow beam would have more throw and less spill, right? Would one of each be $9. verify availability, and OK the total and I'll send Paypal. Thanks - Rube

Hmm, as far as I know, most people just keep the MiniMag reflector when switching to an LED versus the incandescent bulb. To be honest, that reflector puts out a very nice beam and I don't think that using an optic would gain you anything.

The NX05 would have a wider beam compared to the Fraen; note that they are different heights. If you were to go with an optic and not the reflector, then the NX05 would probably be the better fit.

The NX05 would be $4, the Fraen $5. The Krolls are $5 each.
