I saw it on ebay, and emailed the seller to ask about it, since it wasn't explicitly stated that it was a CMG. He said it isn't.
Ultra-G copy

Does anyone know anything about these? O'm looking to get an Ultra-G, and I will get this if it is really comparable.

Well, it LOOKS like a CMG Infinity Ultra, but if the seller says it isn't, it must be a knockoff. Sure has a high price tag for a knockoff though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Could be a regular CMG Infinity government issue; note the 40-hour battery life rating, just like the regular Infinity.
I'd be tempted to buy it, but I'm so far behind as it is, it would be quite a while before I got around to it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

It is most likely a CMG, but the seller may be unaware of that. I have a CMG Ultra-G, and the only differce I see, is the color. Everything about this light is the same as my CMG besides that. Looks like a pretty good deal if you can get it for the $9.99 starting bid!

Hmmmm.... Doesn't say anything about shipping on second look. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

That's almost certainly a CMG Ultra-G. Countycomm sells them for $15.00. It's the same as an Ultra except type 3 hard anodized and comes with no lanyard or pocket clip. The stated 1.04 ounce weight is with no battery. It's about 2 ounces with battery.

Yes, the 40 hr. cell life got me too.
Did CMG make standard Infinity in a government model? He said in the email that it was comparable to an Infinity Ultra. And it is black, instead of green.
I almost got an Ultra-G from countycomm today, until I saw that ludicrous shipping price. When arc sent me my replacement AAA, the shipping was less than $1, I think it was 74¢.
Is countycomm the cheapest place to get an Ultra-G, including shipping?

It is so far. Haven't seen it anywhere else. I don't think the $5 shipping price is that bad. I'm sure you can find more good deals at Countycomm that will more than make up for the shipping price.

It was $6 when I checked, but I am in California, so perhaps tax is in there as well.

I checked again. I did pay $5 shipping. I ordered several other items along with the Ultra-G. Think tax is pulling the cost up.

County Comm used to sell a US Gov't. version of the standard Infinity billed as a "Tactical Illuminator" which was the same as a standard Infinity except for the markings and packaging.

This is almost certainly a Standard CMG Infinity.

That makes sense, then.

Shipping is $5.95 according to the listing. And the flashlight itself went for $10.49.
Now that it's all finished up (the listing's closed), I guess I won't be buying it after all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

It's probably an original CMG Infinity, rather than an Ultra that's twice as bright.

The CMG Infinity Ultra G is a US Government mdl of the CMG Infinity Ultra. The only marking on the CMG Infinity Ultra G was "US Government" on the bezel. Somewhere in the Reviews Forum is a runtime plot I did on a G mdl. I seem to remember a 9-10 hour runtime.

This is a CMG Ultra-G... It even says "US Government" on it...
Don't know why the guy stated that it wasn't a CMG... Maybe because he didn't specifically see "CMG", he refuses to admit it...

This one is black though, and the Ultra-G has only been made in green.

This is the Illuminator-G; they used to be on County Comm's site before the Ultra came out. This fits with the 40 hour runtime claim. Also, back when County Comm sold these, they just called them Tactical Illuminators and did not mention CMG which I bet is why this guy didn't know what he had.

I agree, it's probably a regular Infinity. I hadn't known there used to be a government model of that.

I agree it is most probably Ultra-G. The Ultra-G does not have the words CMG, Ultra, or Infinity anywhere on it. It only says "U. S. Government". So I can see where an uninformed seller might be confused with your question.

PS: The eBay seller wants $5.95 S/H. It wouldn't be a bad deal if they would let you batch several of them together into a single shipment.
