I've had the DX offbrand WF-600 light for a number of months now. The light has worked very well and the surface has held up pretty nicely also. I do however have a problem running the light in Cold Temperature environments.
WF-600 Cree P4 5-Mode LED Flashlight (1*18650)

I've taken the light out on hikes now three times when it has been cold outside. I am just outside of Buffalo, NY. Each time it has been pretty poor weather (snowing, 15*F or less and the wind whipping up 20-30mph). The light will function properly for about 10 minutes and then the driver stops cycling through the various modes. The light has 5 modes (High, med, low, strobe, sos) and it gets stuck on high when it gets cold. I ran the light for a solid 15 minutes straight while outside and the unit never heated up enough to function properly again.
I know this is not a heavy duty/hardcore light. It is a cheap clone of some better models. Haven't had any other trouble with it though. I didn't mod it at all, so I don't even know what kind of driver is on the inside.
Thoughts to the trouble in the cold? Anyone else have this problem?
