I have the Coleman Exponent dual fuel (not the excursion)and love the "natural " glow of the latern. I also love the compactness relative to the light output. However, I have to pump it every 10-15 minutes to maintain maximum brightness. This doesn't seem correct.

I have checked for leaks (with soapy water) and even replaced many of the components. Nothing has helped. Has anyone experienced the same problems and found a fix?

Welcome to CPF!
Sorry I can't answer your question I don't have the lanterns. You might want to try using the Search feature above.

I have a few Colemans and it's the nature of the beast. This is the reason some people prefer the gas cannister style lanterns. I have used both, and I am starting to lean towards the cannister, but will keep the white gas style for backup. Welcome to CPF, many fine people, and way to much information!

Do not fill it completely full of fuel. Leave an inch or two of air space. You cannot compress the liquid, so you must have space for the compressed air. 2" of compressed air in the tank will operate the lantern twice as long as a 1" assuming the same pressure.

I've got a couple of Coleman dual fuel products (NorthStar lantern and a stove so old I can't remember the model name) as well as a couple of other liquid fueled stoves and lamps. With all units, I find that if I fill up past approx 75% capacity, there is insufficient air space to maintain good pressure for long. But with 75% of the tank filled, good pressure can be maintained till perhaps about 20% capacity is left, assuming the unit is run continuously. The heat seems to vapourise enough fuel or heat up the remaining air sufficiently to maintain a good pressure. Of course, once the unit is switched off and cools, the tank needs to be repressurised.

If you are not overfilling and still find that the lantern doesn't maintain good pressure down to at least 40% tank capacity, you should at least go back to the shop and ask to compare your lantern with a couple of the others they have in stock.
