Complimentary lights to e11?

I got my Fenix e11 about two months ago and I love it. As many have said though, it's low mode is quite bright at 38 lumens. I was thinking of getting a dimmer, tail-standable light and a brighter light for outdoor stuff.

Right now I am leaning on the e01 for the former and something like an e25 or LD2.

My budget is sub $50 as I am a broke recent college graduate.

AA/AAA lights only please.

Would you consider a different brand than Fenix? If so, maybe the Nitecore MT2A could be an alternative for outdoor use. It's a 2xAA light, well within your budget, and like the Fenix E11 you toggle between turbo and low by tightening / loosening the head. The low level can be programmed to 15/50/125 lumen and turbo is 280 lumen.

For a hair over $50 consider a 1x or 2xAA Quark... the added cost comes with a 10yr warranty and excellent US-based CS location though. Then you get to try the insanely long running sub-lumen modes which many seem to love CLICKY.

On the 1xAA body ($20 option if purchasing the 2xAA), you can run 14500 rechargeables or 3V CRAA lithium primaries for full power and full CR123/16340 equivalency in a small pocketable EDC light.
