Conrad 9.95 EUR headlamp

Do you own this thing ? Is it good ? Is it crap ?

Conrad seems to be very linking unfriendly, but you can see pictures and pdfs for it; goto: www.conrad.de , then paste 803723 in the Artikelbezeichnung field.

That looks pretty similar to the host light for the Elektrolumens Elektrostar. Nothing fantastic, but not crap, if it's the same light.

I own one of those - 4AA makes it quite head-heavy - the standard bulb is a Krypton 2.4W - I put a 3LED bulb in it driven by 3 NiCads and a spare 4V Halogen for more light but rarely use it due to the weight - naming this thing a "divers headlamp" will give some bad Karma to the marketing guys at Conrad, believe me.

They upgraded the bulb, I think you have an old version: now it's halogen 5,2 V / 0,85 A. Oh yes, it looks to be on the heavy side (it's 10% heavier than princeton tec predator pro - 4AA). And no "over the head" strap.

Yes, their web shop is a piece of crap for sure. The headlamps are under:

HA ! Good things happens to those who wait ! I snatched a PT Vortec off ebay for 13.38 EUR (regular price here 50+ EUR) ! New and complete (with 2 bulbs, 2 reflectors, pouch) and I assume with the full lifetime warranty from PT. I trust PT way better than Conrad (and the Conrad headlamp is 30% heavier too).
Speaking of Conrad: they don't accept cards anymore ... no credit cards, no debit cards, nothing ! And they have many expensive (=3000-5000 $$$ !) products ! Do I have to pay cash ?!
