control circuit for V star Luxeon

I would like information on building a control circuit to power a 5 watt Luxeon star from 6 volt battery but need to be able to dim as well, seen lots of circuits for 1 watt but need help on finding 5 watt Cheers, Mick

Just go to the sandwitch shoppe and get yourself a Downboy1000 and put a t-stage switch on whatever light you're building. That would be the easiest solution i think. Aleph 3 comes to mind /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I used to built 6 volt operate with BB1000. It didn't work very well. I will try with downboy 1000 as mention by Hallis. Thanks.

A luxeon V can't be powered by a DownBoy from 6V. The DownBoy is a buck circuit, meaning the input voltage must be higher than the Vf of the LED. A BadBoy is a boost circuit and will power a luxeon V properly from 6V.
